DailyCompress cares deeply about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and treat the information collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the DailyCompress website and the services linked to it. The effective date for the validity of these terms is 16/02/2023, with the publication of a new version the validity of all previous versions will expire.

Webshop software

Shopify

Our store is developed with software from Shopify. Personal data that you make available to us for our services are shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support, they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have with them, Shopify is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures include the use of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify is a certified processor of credit card data. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software, no personal data is collected and/or stored. Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own corporate group to further improve its services. Shopify takes into account the applicable legal retention periods for (personal) data. The EU/US Privacy Shield applies, your data may be processed in the United States.

Web hosting

Hostnet

We purchase web hosting and email services from Hostnet. Hostnet processes personal data on our behalf and does not process your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. These are not personal data. Hostnet has taken appropriate technical and additional measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Hostnet is bound to secrecy under the terms of the agreement.

E-mail and mailing lists

Klaviyo & Hostnet

Our website uses Klaviyo, a third-party provider that handles e-mail traffic coming from our website and sending any newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent through Klaviyo's servers. Klaviyo will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically through our website, you will see the “unsubscribe” link. If you click this you will no longer receive email from our website. This can seriously reduce the functionality of our website! Your personal data is stored securely by Klaviyo. Klaviyo uses cookies and other Internet technologies that provide insight into whether emails are opened and read. Klaviyo reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and in that context share information with third parties.

Hostnet

We use the services of Hostnet for our regular business e-mail traffic. This party has taken appropriate technical and support measures to prevent abuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Hostnet does not have access to our inbox and we handle all of our email traffic.

Yotpo

We value your privacy and the information you consent to share in connection with our SMS marketing service. We use this information to send you text messages (for your order, including checkout reminders), text marketing offers and transactional texts, including requests for reviews from us.Opt-in data and consent for text messaging are not shared with third parties, except messaging partners, for enabling and running our text messaging program.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of processing.

We use your data exclusively for the purpose of our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the order you receive. If you share data with us and we use this data - other than at your request - to contact you at a later time, we will ask you for your explicit permission to do so. Your data will not be shared with third parties other than to fulfill accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality by virtue of the agreement between them and us of an ed or legal response.

Automatically Collected Data.

Data automatically collected by our website is processed for the purpose of further improving our services. This data (for example, your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations

In possible cases, DailyCompress may be required to share your data in connection with governmental tax or criminal investigations by virtue of an underlying. In a similar case, we will be forced to share your data, but we will oppose this within the possibilities provided by law.

Retention periods

We will retain your data for as long as you are our customer. This means that we will keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also interpret this as a request to forget. This also means that we will not retain your data for longer than two years from the last contact moment of the transaction, unless there is a legal justification. Applicable administrative obligations require us to retain invoices containing your (personal) data, so we will retain this data for as long as the limited period is kept. However, employees do not have access to your customer profile and documents we have produced in response to your order.

Your rights

Pursuant to applicable Dutch and European legislation, as a data subject you have certain rights with respect to the personal data processed by us or on our behalf. We explain below which rights these are and how you can invoke these rights. In principle, to prevent misuse, we only send copies and transcripts of your data to your e-mail address already known to us. In the event that you wish to receive the data at a different e-mail address or for example by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep records of processed requests; in the case of forgetting requests, we administer anonymized data. You will receive all transcripts and copies of data in the machine-readable data format we use within our systems. You have the right at any time to file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority if you suspect that we are using your personal data in an inappropriate manner.
